Rhassoul clay, also called ghassoul, is a mineral clay from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, where it has been used for generations to wash skin and hair in the hammam. Mixed with water, it turns into a smooth paste for face and body masks, and a spoonful adds a soft, clay texture to homemade scrubs.

- Face or body mask: mix one or two tablespoons with water to a smooth paste.
- Apply a thin layer to clean, damp skin, avoiding the area around the eyes.
- Rinse off with warm water after 5–10 minutes, before the clay has dried completely.
- Hair: mix with water to a thin paste, massage into wet hair and scalp and rinse thoroughly.
- Body scrub: add one or two tablespoons to a homemade salt or sugar scrub.
- Test on a small area of skin first and stop using it if irritation occurs.
- Store tightly closed in a dry place.
